SUMMARY:July 14th: Bastille Day Brings Le Barbecue to Comme Ca, Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
DESCRIPTION: Comme Ca, the modern French brasserie by acclaimed Chef David Myers at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, will commence its “Le Barbecue” summer grilling series on the patio with a Bastille Day celebration on Saturday, July 14. Bastille Day is the equivalent of our Independence Day, when French folk stormed the Bastille prison in 1789, setting the course for a really pleasant and bloody revolution. Myers, chef and owner of the celebrated restaurant, along with Executive Chef Brian Howard, have created a Parisian-inspired barbecue menu of selections made to order from the wood-fired grill on Comme Ça’s patio, including freshly-made Leg of Lamb, Skirt Steak au Poivre and Beer Can Chicken. No barbecue would be complete without ample sides, and Comme Ça will feature an elaborate spread of French picnic staples like artisanal cheeses, house-made charcuterie with violet mustard and assorted pickles, Provençal Spring Vegetable Salad, Potted Steak Tartare with traditional garnishes, Smoked Salmon Rillette, Basque Cake and an assortment of seasonal fruit tarts. Unlimited libations priced at $25 per person include house champagne and the Prohibition Punch cocktail made with dark rum, Grand Marnier, passion fruit, fresh lemon and champagne. The mouthwatering menu, priced at $49 per person, will be available from 3 until 7 p.m. on Bastille Day. Additional dates are planned for the “Le Barbecue” series through the end of September. Here's the Menu: Unlimited Drinks, $25 Prohibition Punch House champagne Salads Mixed greens, toasted hazelnuts, goat cheese Provenҫal spring vegetable salad, lemon shallot dressing Roasted beets, sherry vinegar and citrus On Ice Assorted oysters, mignonette sauce Shrimp cocktail Starters Artisanal cheeses, honeycomb and raisin bread House-made charcuterie, violet mustard, assorted pickles Assorted tea sandwiches Potted steak tartare, traditional garnishes Smoked salmon rillette, absinthe, grilled bread Steamed mussels, white wine and saffron Steamed vegetables Potato puree Wood fire grill Skirt Steak au Poivre sauce Merguez Sausage Leg of lamb Beer can chicken Sweets Basque cake, lemon tart, seasonal fruit tarts, nougat Don't be deceived when our Revolution has been finally stamped out and they tell you things are better now Even if there's no poverty to be seen because the poverty's been hidden even if you ever got more wages and could afford to buy more of these new and useless goods which these new industries foist on you and even if it seems to you that you never had so much that is only the slogan of those who still have much more than you Peter Weiss, Marat/Sade Be careful harnessing the sentiment in the above words. You could be found dead in a bathtub.
