New Chilewich Fall 2011 Introductions now at Unicahome
Chilewich recently announced their Fall 2011 introductions. Chilewich, founded by Sandy Chilewich, specializes in woven vinyl rugs and placemats. Beautiful and durable, their products are found in homes and fine dining establishments throughout the United States.
Most of the new product is available for immediate shipment and is made in the U.S.A.
Placemat Introductions
Ribweave
The new ribweave pattern is a chunky, textural weave of flat, dry colors that has a surprisingly natural feel for a synthetic material. Rib weave tablemats are available in Black, Coconut, Mahogany, Pearl, and Toffee.
Tribal
The new tribal pattern was inspired by the graphic patterns found in Kuba cloth, a graphically bold textile of the Congo. Chilewich and her team experimented with thinner yarns and tighter jacquard weaving, resulting in a degree of unprecedented graphic detail for the collection.
Available in Ash, Burlap and Coal. Also available in rugs.
Fringe Stripe
Sandy Chilewich has reinterpreted yet another hand-woven textile, this time from South East Asia- a design that would normally be made of bamboo and other natural fibers. by using bi-color extruded yarns and industrial looms, this delicate open weave is functional and durable. The Fringe Stripe tablemat and runner are available in the subtle metallic shades of Brindle, Mink, and Zebra.
Rug Introductions
Kono
An extension of the popular placemat pattern introduced earlier this year, the Kono is a very durable woven vinyl rug with dimensional over-and-under weave that grabs the eye thanks to the heft and light-reflectivity of the yarns used in its construction.
Available in iron and midnight colorways.
Tribal
The tribal woven rug is an extension of the new placemats by Sandy Chilewich and based on patterns in Kuba cloth from the Congo. With a contemporary look bordering on classic, the Tribal rug series add an impressive accent to any room, with durability to boot.
Available in burlap and coal colorways.
Even Stripe 'Shag'
New for 2011, the even stripe utility mat has, you guessed it, even stripes. Available in three sizes, the mats have been introduced in one color- mineral. Made of Chilewich’s ‘shag’ vinyl, these mats are great in all kinds of weather and quick to dry.
