Tattoo Lotus by Paul Timman
Ink Dish is a smaller US dinnerware company specializing in patterns from young artists and designers. Well-priced, their dinnerware is designed as four piece place settings which are dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and lead-free. The patterns are in glaze for durability. The company also has gift sets of mugs and plates for people who like accent dinnerware pieces.
How good are their designs? The Irezumi dinnerware line by Paul Timman received a #2 ranking in Metropolitan Home’s Top 100 rankings. So when Ink Dish comes out with new designs, we take notice.

Dana Oldfather
The Kites Dinnerware Series by Dana Oldfather is filled with lines and color. Ms. Oldfather , a finalist in the Young Artists Competition, states, “My interest is to demonstrate the hard and soft parts ofourselves, whereby I regard the contradiction as one idea, one complete emotion, rather than two. It is the resolution of opposites into a singular new identity, complete in itself, that is important.” Some of her primary influences include Willem DeKooning, Reed Danziger, Dana Schutz, and Jennifer Coates. She lives and works in Cleveland, Ohio.
Paul Timman expands his dinnerware range with the introduction of the Tattoo Lotus pattern. Mr. Timman was trained at the Cleveland Institute of Art in Sculpture and Glass. His primary art of note involves skin- he works at the famed Sunset Strip Tattoo in

Hollywood, California and is considered one of the foremost tattoo artists in the world. His specialty is tribal and traditional Japanese designs- which are prevalent in his two other patterns for Ink Dish- Irezumi and Tribal Lines.
The Poem Dinnerware pattern by David Palmer is a beautiful series of green naturalist forms, interspersed with patterns. The designer is a Los Angeles based artist with solo exhibitions under his belt. Mr. Palmer works in a variety of materials, and is also known for his digital work in films such as Harry Potter and Spiderman. He has a BA in art from the University of Florida, and an MFA in painting from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. According to the

artist, “I think of my paintings as glimpses through an imaginary microscope. They are inspired by nature, but not just by its appearance. I’m interested in the ways things are connected, both directly and through networks, and how simple elements can combine and evolve into complex organisms. I’m especially fascinated by the invisible connections that we don’t see directly, but that are a big part of how we experience the world.”
Ink Dish has also introduced service platters and bowls for their earlier introductions. All of the new introductions are scheduled to ship in late November. Now accepting advance orders. Available at UNICAHOME.
