Both companies produce extremely high quality product that is well designed and well made, and both companies are headed by young CEOs that are extremely focused on the design aspects of their product selection. Both companies, as well, are based in the United States.
Lombardia Frames by Match
Match is a firm that specializes in pewter goods. Handmade by artisans in Italy, their product line ranges from giftware to tablesettings. Unlike pewter ware in the past, there is no lead in the range, and the service pieces are FDA approved. Match’s final product is interesting also because there has been a deliberate choice to maintain a handcrafted appearance. Pieces may have small pits and flaws that are a celebration of the production process. All pieces are stamped with the maker’s mark- a nod to production values of centuries past.
Scales Frames by L'Objet
L’Objet has a more modern approach to production, utilizing new materials such as resin mixtures to obtain a product that simply would be too difficult or expensive to manufacture with traditional casting methods. Headed by designer Elad Yifrach, the company has specialized primarily in tableware with porcelain and decor quality that certainly rivals or exceeds that found in some of the more Limoges luxury brands such as Sevres and Bernardaud.
Braid Frames by L'Objet
In recent years Mr. Yifrach, an interior designer before starting L’Objet, began to focus on decorative functional objects for the home. One of the notable arrivals has been a series of frames for photographs. The series is unique for the market with neo-classic motifs and additional accents provided (in some cases) by crystals, pearls, and gold-plating.
